She made him for the same reason she did in the canon timeline tbh !! Once she kicked lg1 out (for not being safe around others. He wayyy way too often would physically hurt her candy people and they did not trust her when lg was around) he was lonely and licking his wounds from being ripped from the position of such high up royalty. Just to be demoted into an earl who was banished to live on the outskirts of the candy kingdom. The harsh pirate infested badlands. It was causing all kinds of anxiety and Severely Angry emotions that lead up to the events that take place in You Made Me and from then on my story goes pretty much the same as canon !! I just think bubblegum raising him is too much fun to contemplate all day. Love my silly baby lemon boy with the energy reserves of a sun and who can bite ur finger entirely off in one quick nip if he wanted and he Often succumbs to those invasive thoughts lmfaooo. Bubblegum is just So worn down.

Ooohooo boy here we go get ready for my autism rant~ (sorry if you were wanting to read something wholesome bc this is NOT that :,) )

In my au version of events bubblegum scientifically engineered the seed of baby lemongrab instead of bringing him to life as an adult like she does in the show. She planted it, and it grew a tiny little lemon tree which in turn produced a baby lemongrab amongst the leaves. This was earlier on in her life and lemongrab was the most complex being she had created as of yet. He was built using the anatomy of an array of different creatures but most importantly he was spliced with Alot of humanoid dna. So he'd be made in her image. Unlike her squishy, innocent "chicken eyed" little candy folk who could barely think for themselves, he was complex, with alot of capacity to think, muscles and veins and cat-like eyes gave him alot of advantages over candy folk. She grew obsessed with the idea of raising a little heir. Early on she realized she had made a mistake somewhere in her genetic choices for him as he had an aggressive personality from a VERY early age. She couldn't quite figure out what was the matter with him and why he wouldnt just grow some compassion. He was a brat, extremely antisocial and had Very little patience for others even though HE needed alot of patience to work with. Bubblegum spent Countless hours doing thankless jobs for this snake from hell of a toddler she had created and she often just did not have the energy to take care of him full time AND run her kingdom on top of it. She let herself grow ever slightly more resentful towards him for being so needy and hyper-emotional. She began just trying to focus on GETTING RID of his autism rather than yknow. Trying to help him deal with it in a healthy way?! Which is why he was never able to grow out of his cold selfish mindset even in adulthood. He was always told he was just plain wrong, but he was too stubborn to bend to their methods of trying to correct him and just kept growing angrier and angrier. More determined to prove that he Wasn't in the wrong.
