As for Sam and Fuzzy, I haven’t gone through the archive, but I’ve been following it live for a few years. It’s a hard comic to talk about it’s good enough that I don’t have much criticism but not quite good enough to make me go “HEY EVERYONE GO READ THIS” like I do for, say, Ten Earth-Shattering Blows.

if this is what you think, you will have a rude awakening. lmfao ESPECIALLY SO if you make the big troon leap. It’s like a monkey paw wish. People WILL treat you “better” but it will always belie the fact that you will be patronized and treated like a child when they do so. That their niceness is just FDIBD and motivated by libido. You will come to cherish the moments when you are treated with respect. I think it’s very common for men to imagine that being a woman is waaay better but, it really isn’t. I think at the moment, youth are extra fucked (explicitly young men) because the masculine ideal has been systematically destroyed and is constantly being undermined and eroded by capitalism because traditional male roles are increasingly rendered obsolete by the accelerated development of technology. What men follow or chase now is in effect, the simulacra of manhood in various forms. This fundamental loss of what it means to be a man in an advanced and increasingly clerical society is behind feelings like yours. What’s more, it’s likely beneath the past two decades of neoreaction as young men grasp at pre-modern history and faith to provide structure in their lives to these ends. The sort of order and discipline they can’t otherwise find in hyper-modernity.

The future of manhood and living as a man is increasingly like that of what you, personally, experience as maleness.
