nobody asked but here's my filink ship bingo

the transition from full time freelance illustrator to hobbyist is never talked about, but i've found it to be a very difficult thing. i have a full time job unrelated to illustration/concept art now, so sometimes asking myself to draw in what little free time i have sometimes can be like piling more work on top of that, because for 10 years i had to stay on top of trends and cater to the desires of people who had no idea who i was and commissioners, because that was the only way i could make any money, rarely having time to think about what i personally wanted to make. everything i drew had to be the next big revolutionary concept in the fleeting hope i would retain an audience in a society where the pace just kept getting quicker and quicker. but i'm taking little steps to change my mindset about it, because i really do love drawing, and i love writing fiction. i'm bringing drawing to more comfortable locations like my couch, and i'm trying to remind myself it's good for my mental health and that i should do it without thinking about whether or not what i'm drawing will please others. looking at my art from 10 years ago is bittersweet because i had so many good ideas but i was so pressured to do things a certain way while i was still learning and i hope i can recapture the passion i had back then but even better

Love your Hylia drawing! But with that first drawing of her presenting the goddess sword I gotta wonder; does Fi consider her mom? Especially once Fi becomes human.
