we have 13 books, and gabrielle doesn't have a prominent role in a lot of those. i do like that her life doesn't revolve around lestat or being a mom. however there are two books where her presence is super relevant: the vampire lestat and queen of the damned (i'll get to this one later, and i don't buy rolin's bullshit about prince lestat trilogy, so moving on...). adapting tvl was the only moment to flash out her character,a character that already was flashed out in the book. and the opportunity to do so is over, they wasted it so they alegally could treat incestuous relationships seriously. it's so serious to them that she had to be a cartoonish villain walking out of a porn video. she is a joke, magnus too by the way, it only worked out for him in the end cuz it was brief. but i guess the season needed a villain. and who cares, right? anne didn't like her, so why should the writers of the show waste their time trying to write something meaningful for her? who wants to watch a monologue about the loneliness of childbirth? who wants to see someone trapped in a corset kill a male victim and steal his clothes after finally being free from society's rules? who wants to see a disphoria episode of someone trapped in an unchanging body? who wants to see philosophical debates between a well-read person and armand (mind you they're basically foils this season cuz they decided to make gabriella pass as sofia, mess with daniel’s documentary and be repeatedly called the love of lestat's life) ? who wants to see a child bride that was raped and forced to have one kid after another free herself from motherhood cuz now she has eternity to be whoever she wants to be?  ... sounds super dull, right? and now it’s time to talk about qotd, do we want to see this gabriella with jesse (yeah they aren’t even a fotenote, but claudeleine went canon in way so i girl can dream...well in this case i'm not dreaming anymore) ? will we sympathize with this gabriella when she asks 'and my son, will none of you tell me what she's done with him and where he is? will louis and gabriella have some sort of camaraderie like in the books (the answer is no, of course not, cuz he will forever hate her and gabriella feels threatened by him).
