I am merely curious if anyone thought to do the same with Emma Stone. this may be a purely selfish move because I want to see more Emma Stone, but the point stands. Why can't we have, say, Cruella x Holland March?

Watched Murder by Numbers properly last night. I had watched it in pieces years ago, so I thought I was prepared. I was not prepared for how gay it was, the vague memories didnāt stack up even slightly to how homosexual it was. Fitting for pride month. Additionally the only Ryan gosling character I donāt like at all.
After watching Lars and the real girl, I canāt help but view Lars through an aroace lens. Thatās not to say that he is, or isnāt, because the movie is not about whether he fucks, or does not fuck. But rather his aversion to people and relationships. An asexual concept if ever Iāve seen one. Touch hurts, he does not enjoy it, unless itās Biancaā¦ In which case, itās him initiating the contact always. I find it so interesting that itās not that he doesnāt like touch, at least not in the way certain tragic characters donāt like itāafraid to get attached, or feel goodāLars doesnāt even like it.
He buys a doll meant for sex, and has a relationship with her. A decidedly non-sexual one at that. Thatās not to say heād have to be ace to be respectful in any way, but he didnāt buy the doll for that purpose at all. We donāt ever learn how/when specifically he does procure Bianca. But Iāll eat my shoes if it wasnāt searching for a girlfriend in the most innocent, religious sense.
I do not enjoy opening tumblr after watching a movie to find people so horny it feels like they didn't watch the same movie.
Lars Lindstrom is so important to me. His aversion to touch is something so important. It wasn't 'i don't like being touched,' it was 'being touched doesn't feel good.' These are two very different things and I appreciate the distinction.
Unable to find joy in much, I too have fallen into the hole of watching Ryan Gosling's entire filmography.
