i like the confrontation between baldr and bragi in a similar way that i like the confrontation between xigbar and luxord which is to say a super-powerful super-confident antagonistic force is made afraid for probably the first time in his career. because like, who is bragi? just another classmate, right? a lazy one? baldr had to lie to save face and pretend like he easily defeated the guy but he was panicked because he saw something in those eyes he couldn’t articulate. then bragi himself, luxu, xigbar, years later, super old and elite… he’s rattled by some guy. luxord’s dramatic but all the org members are; why should he catch onto anything luxu is doing? why should he see through xigbar’s facade? who could this guy be that doesn’t fall for those lies? terrifying. in neither of these cases does the Knower threaten the person. they’re content to have rattled them and then walk away with a smirk but otherwise let everything happen all ‘your secret’s safe with me ;)’ but it’s infuriating to the secret-keeper. so good
