Something a little bit more negative but im super scared about the possibility of a star wars world in kh4.
First of all, kh’s worlds are all very much said to be in the same universe. As in, if you take a ship, and fly towards a location, you will run into a world. Unless, of course, they decide to confirm if world BORDERS (remember what gummy blocks are made out of?) are still a thing, which would explain why they keep having to constantly find new gateways (besides just having no navigation tech to speak of when warping) as the holes they use to navigate keep getting patched.
If that is not how it works, and it truly is a ‘they are all in the same universe you just gotta travel there’ then adding a VERY SPACEFARING work into kh, with its own UNIVERSE SPANNING POWER (the Force is everywhere) would absolutely break things. Why do only star wars guys have the force? How did star wars never pop up before then, from an in-universe perspective, when these are very expansive organisms (the Empire, literally trying to expand itself), how do you maintain the world order in a place not constrained to a world, etc? Do people outside star wars have the ability to wield the force, and- ugh it just builds upon itself.
Not to mention, while the force and light and darkness might not seem so different, I do not think they would place nice with each other at all. The worst the dark side of the force will do to you is more mental-based damage, as in things like insanity, etc, but kh darkness WILL eat you if you fuck around it too much. If star wars exists in the kh verse, you tell me that darkness and light were a thing but no one started using it till Sora came around?
If its like Quadrantum where said concepts did not exist until outsiders brought them in, and its its own isolated pocket of the world with barriers that keep its own verse-abilities from leaking into kh verse (so you would have reality, which is the kh verse with all its disney worlds, and unreality, which is its own section of planets isolated from kh concepts), it could maybe work… but then you have to admit that the moment you contaminate said setting, in-universe that setting will forever be fucked from that moment on lmao. Which tbf, it seems the trailer implies they are going to have to tackle. The biggest issue in kh-verse isnt the heartless, its the darkness that exists in everyone. It wont be star wars in itself, from that moment on it will forever be ‘star wars dealing with the ramifications of kh’ and then you lose a bit of the appeal, if its more about ‘wouldn’t it be cool to have a star wars world’ and less ‘hey how does this tie into the journey’- I am getting off track, wow.
Tl;dr: a spacefaring civilization with universal level forces in kingdom hearts, which mainly has self-contained worlds with self-contained abilities that arent horrendously affected by kh’s own universe spanning forces, would be kinda tricky to pull off without accidentally introducing the posibility of Emperor Palpatine possibly having the opportunity of invading Disney castle to add it to its own facist empire.
Also its hard to cleanse a world of heartless when said world is actually a universe. Sora can kill heartless in Tatooine and lock the keyhole away so they might go away, but how can that also save Coruscant from heartless, who, mind i add, can only be countered by a keyblade? Now you gotta do that for every single world in star wars, and thats just messy.
Tbf you could say only star wars people have the force bc only the have the midoclorians, which would be a hilarious way to fix that issue. And Quadrantum adding a new layer (unreality, untainted by our concepts of light and dark), or readdressing the actual permeability of world BORDERS would probably fix most of these issues tbf
