“… Okay that was marginally better than your last Pendrago poem but it was still pretty bad Sorey. How about this… I’ll give you one more chance to win this but this time you actually take your time. You can tell it to me whenever you think it’s ready.” Sometimes he wondered what went on his friend’s head to create such odd poetry but at the same time, this is what made Sorey, Sorey.

“Okay! ‘Pendrago, how strong your architecture stands. Light shines through with Morgrim’s blessings against the darkening evening sky. Ah, Pendrago. How grand your majesty will be in a thousand years from now!’”

Glad to see his friend perked back up the seraph just grinned at him tauntingly. “I’ll wait with baited breath. But if I hear one cricket then I’ll know it was bad.” Mikleo snickered a bit as he crossed him arms over his chest.

Well, he tried.

“I’m pretty sure I heard a cricket boo that one about Pendrago. But no not all your poetry is bad… If you actually take time on them.” Mikleo felt bad that he’d upset his friend with his teasing though.

“I know! I’ll revise it so it’s better!! Just you wait, Mikleo!”

“We both know you don’t have a bad bone in your body Sorey. Just bad poems and pick up lines.” He then chuckled further and gently shoved against Sorey’s shoulder playfully.

Sorey sighed and rubbed his neck, “Okay. The pick up line was awful, I’ll admit that. But my poetry can’t be that bad, can it?”

“Hmph. So I’m just a test subject huh? Well don’t get too used to it or I will leave you to Rose’s reactions. Oh Great Shepard.” However his words didn’t hold the bite of a true threat and his ‘angry’ exterior melts away. Soon Mikleo was just chuckling quietly as he pictured the girls reactions to Sorey using pick up lines on them. “You are hopeless sometimes I swear. Though when Rose punched you that was Edna’s fault.”

“But it all worked out!! Even if I had a sore face for the rest of the day!”

          “Ah pardon sir,” Napoleon said as he held up a small item he was sure the other had accidentally dropped. “This was dropped only a few meters back, but what is of the urgency?”

“Oh, I must have dropped this! Thank you, sir!” He took the item from the stranger, ever so relieved it was returned, “I don’t know what I would have done if I lost this...”

Mikleo could only cover his face at Sorey’s explanation. Did he really believe that? With a loud sight he decided he should explain, “You’re sort of right in that it would “strengthen your bonds” if your target liked the line. But normally people, mostly guys, say that to get a date Sorey. That’s why it sounded a lot like something Zaveid would say. Be glad it was me and not Rose… Or worse Alisha.”

“Alisha...I’m almost too afraid to find out what she might do. Which is why I’m glad I tried it on you instead!” Seriously, he was thankful Mikleo knew how to deal with his shenanigans.
