✨Soothing Roses✨

There is something about a fire that is so relaxing.

The sensations become nectar-sweet, enveloping my body.

Warmth. Calming crackles. The ambiance of a summer evening.

Sometimes I imagine myself as one of the burning logs; hissing from the pain, succumbing from the intense heat and internal destruction, the burdens becoming far too heavy from those stacked on top, until finally crumbling into ash.

This big man is happy to bring in the new week

My stinky man is now looking more salt and pepper-y as the years go on.

He is such a loving kitty, always head-butting and purring louder than a motorcycle. If only he didn’t scream into the corner of the hallway, making it echo throughout the house…

Having your parents or grandparents age fast… it never feels like enough notice. The greying hairs on my father, the wrinkles in my mother’s forehead, the confusion in my grandmother’s head…

Today, my walk was a little less happy knowing I had night shift tonight.

These little goslings did cheer me up, though.

Also had some lovely inspiration to get my creative side out. It does help with pre-shift anxiety.

Oh, how naive I was as a child. Life is constant work, there are no days off.

Time files so fast these days, and I feel like the goslings represent that. They grow up so quickly, never enough time or presence to realize how lucky they really were.

Especially in a cool evening, such as tonight.

This weather gives me inspiration, and Im more motivated than ever to get it done.

That has been the HARDEST lesson I’ve had to learn about being an adult.

Today while I sipped on my coffee, I thought that a garden bed would look quite nice around the evergreen. Planting bushes and lilies, it would shelter the wood and section off the much-desired fire pit.

So I took up a shovel and measured it out. Dug up and cleaned the pine cones. Now just to get the bushes and rocks to line the garden bed.

Funny how it took me this long to feel at home.
