Born to the gods yet forced to live among mortals, Hercules grew up knowing he was different. He searched his entire life for belonging, only to discover he was meant for a higher purpose. Hercules, the son of Zeus and Hera, heir to Mount Olympus, had a golden destiny. The keys to his fate were locked away due to his being turned half mortal as an infant. Hercules had to become a true hero if he wanted to reunite with his family. Young Hercules sought out Philoctetes, a seytar who trained the greatest of heroes. Phil was retired, but one doesn’t stay in retirement when the son of Zeus comes knocking at your front door. In time, Hercules grew from a lanky, awkward teen to a Greek god. His quest to become a true hero was deterred when Hercules was given word by Hermes of his uncle’s destruction in a city called Elias. His father asked him to stop Hades’ evil doings.  Hercules came to the city in awe of its magic. For the first time in his life, he didn’t feel like an outsider. He couldn’t let his uncle or Maleficent destroy this beautiful city. As the war unfolded, Hercules fought on the battlegrounds. When it came time to face his uncle, Hades was nowhere to be found. The man allowed his comrades to be slain and escaped to save his skin, but not without a message for his dear nephew: this was only the beginning.  Knowing Hades was still out there, Hercules knew he couldn’t leave the city in good faith. They needed protection. They needed a hero. It’s why he said yes to being a councilor. If anyone was going to be able to put a stop to Hades and the growing Underland, it was he. Hercules believed that if he stopped Hades, he would be able to go back home, but stopping the king of the Underland was only a small part of becoming a true hero. If Hercules wanted to return home, he would have to free the innocent souls Hades had claimed.
