It's that time of the year again...

Happy Pride Month!

I guess this is time for me to have a little break to tell you what I was feeling when I wrote this AU.

First of all, I haven't thought of what I want with Jin since I started this off with only Kazuya in mind and before I get to Jin I want everything I have with Kazuya out of the door.

I came to realization of what I want with Jin as I wrote "Yearning in the Dark". I want to keep the HwoaJin ship sailing, but at the same time I need the Devil Gene to work similar to Kazuya's.

So I came to a middle ground that is essentially "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" type of deal. Blood was the trigger for Lucy(that's what I call her) to come out. Which got me almost reflecting on myself as I wrote them, with a little help of my friends ofc

The end goal was for them to fuse back into Jin, but with a different sense of clarity as non-binary.

I may sound like I was projecting myself but what is a fanfic if not about your self-indulging project that helps you argue with yourself about your own sense of worth and belonging through your favorite characters?

I am Soni(pronounce it like the electronic brand) and yes, I am non-binary. My pronouns are She/They. I don't mind she/her pronouns and sometimes people call me "bro"(or a femboy in some occasions) but I prefer they/them pronouns. Indonesian language is very gender-neutral so I don't feel the need to even place myself in the gender box. It's stupid, it sucks the joy out of my life. I hate wearing tulle and chiffon in a country that does Summer 24/7 please get me outta here

I know there are many labels out there. Some say my struggle feels like body dysmorphia, but for now... NB is the vibe. I feel disgusted by my own boobs I wish I can get rid of it, but I also like the idea of bulking myself up. You know, I like being a woman but I also don't like being a woman. It feels weird that if I ever have some superhero powers I want some shapeshifting so I could just... Be something else. One day I can feel hyper-feminine and another I just wanna pass a little, and another day I just don't want to be perceived as anything. I'm just... me.

So if you ever feel my struggle, and stuck in a country that locks you up in a closet(or in Lucy's case, a pod in somebody's lab until they found a cure to get your head straight), I hope you found someone who can someday bust you out and keep you safe.

So uh, I noticed that people are getting increasingly becoming "moral police" over fictional characters and of all games they choose to become one, is Tekken. And they just started doing that on the inclusion of Yujiro Hanma from "Baki the Grappler".

Well, this is technically not the start. There has been a similar discussion when talking about Jin's tonal shift in Tekken 6. And the increase of this might have something to do with new generations of fandom treating their art as nothing but a media to consume than to be engaged with.

This bleeds to the rise of...well, AI slop in Tekken fanbase. Go to any Facebook community and you'll see those AI Tekken posters literally anywhere.

Some of them ran through the story and only accepts the surface level interpretation of what is already given to them.

This is the type of stuff that got me thinking, when people said "respect Jin's character because he would never be the bad guy" really didn't understand the full context of his environment and cultural background he was participating in.

Asian culture worships systemic conformity, even when they know it's bad for them. When someone said someone in the Mishima family needs to "break that cycle of abuse", they ignored the ugly part where the problem is so systemically ingrained that even what you think is "one of the good guys who fights against his abusers" can be either the system's enabler themselves... or found dead in the streets as it was staged like an accident for simply wanting an honest life.

Jin's case was the latter. Yes, he was dead and the Devil Gene is the very thing that keeps him alive.

So you can't say "respect Jin's character" without giving Devil!Jin an equal amount of respect to at least offer some insights about Jin's inner conflict. What was this "inner demon" represent in his mind? He hates the Devil Gene, but why? What makes it dangerous? What kind of conversation they have in Jin's head that leads into his decisions of starting the war? Which one of those is external influence and which one comes from his own conscious decision?

And well, how can you comment about Yujiro Hanma being a "terrible person"(he raped Donald Trump, btw) when we have real cases like Jin's story in our everyday lives, and still got away with it?

I heard that line saying "Oh, I just found that move while randomly surfing YouTube" and my thought isn't immediately trusting a literal teenager with that line. Given in modern context, children today are more tech-savvy than you and me. Since the dawn of the government building many restrictions preventing children below 16-18 to access internet without showing their face and/or their legal ID, they came up with increasingly creative ways to bypass that security. Old people—on the other hand—you'll see them getting scammed by random Nigerian prince or Indian tech corpos disguising as celebrities since the dawn of deepfakes and AI. A perfect cover to run underground operations while siding with the rebels, including tax fraud.

Her vibe is giving that "internet grandma" meme with a touch of Sofia from the Golden Girls and Meryl Streep(I think the character's name was Meredith? Cmiiw) in "The Devil Wears Prada".

Meet Josie Rizal!

I saw this project coming in and it turns out I was late to the party(because ofc I was.) then I said, "Give me two days. Watch me."

I have been eyeing on doing more Josie Rizal designs, but the idea haven't struck me until I was in a conversation with a Filipino friend on Facebook who was a theatre kid and she never shut up about this bird called "Ibong Adarna".

I saw this artwork and think of the colors having resemblance to their national flag, so I thought to design her outfit around it.

In case you asked where she got the arm tattoos, those were carried over from my other design of her which I shared not too long ago.

It happened that I forgot to flip the layer when I drew those tats. I was too excited and drawing tattoos has been my favorite part of her design. I showed these to my friends and they loved how much I want to be invested at Filipino culture and I thought of how similar they are to some ethnic cultures of Indonesia that I can't help but to give SEA the representations it needs and deserves.

So I posted this work on Facebook then suddenly I was surprised by a comment which say I intentionally made Kazuya four shades darker.

So I pulled my references where I picked the colors from
