Artwork of Tails’ model sheet design from @AbelMunizJr’s scans of the ‘Sonic Adventure’ style guide.
Maybe a small tutorial of how to draw sonic characters?
Woops so I was doing a small one, and it turned into a long one haha… hope this is cool
I want to get back into drawing Sonic again but I always have so much trouble with the muzzle and eyes...! I guess I end up overthinking it but it always turns out kinda scrunched together and weird looking instead of cute.... how do you do it?? Lol how do you get Sonic to look so cute!!
i’m still learning myself, honestly! their muzzles and eyes actually give me the most issues. but here’s a breakdown of what i do?? hope this sorda helps lol
Ha!! I can finally put this here!!

Sonic Mania Adventure’s concept art!
I’ve never seen this concept art for Sonic before.
It’s from the Sonic Adventure styles guide. You can really see the SA model’s faithfulness to this.
Currently converting Sonic X model sheets/concept art I downloaded into a more manageable file format(for my own personal use). But I thought I share these ones of Cosmo and Chris.
These were download over here, so please give them the much deserved credit.

Good day! How are you doing today? I have a question. How do you deal with Rouge's legs? Some artists draw her with a human lady's legs but others draw her with noodle legs and I'm not sure which one is correct.
hi! i’m doing fine thanks! well.. i woudn’t dare to say which one is correct since it’s each’s one style,
but if we want to do it the SEGA style we’d have to look at the official art
on official art, Rouge’s body is shaped like a peanut, and her legs are endeed noodles, its a way to do it of course, its very simple too
now, Rouge on 3D model, she hasn’t exactly thin noodles, she has thighs
so i’d just say the one wich is easier to do or the way you like the most is the correct way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
hehe hope this was enough understable :D

well when i draw Amy’s quills, i usually start with the one that’s on her hceek, (number 1) because is next to her eye, then following the head’s circle i draw the one she has in the back of her head(2), and lastly the middle one (3)
with Silver i start for the forehead’s quills, first the one that’s on his eyebrow and then i proceed with the others ones (from 1 to 5 in order) and after that’s done i draw the last 2 quills; the largers ones on his head (6) they are just like Sonic’s but larger
well i don’t really have much else to explain i guess.. just that Silver has a sort of mohawk cut between his two larger quills and his forehead quills go down when he’s tired (needs rings)
hope this was useful somehow ^3^U
Got any tips on how to draw Sonic/Shadow's quills? I always have trouble drawing them. Either they're too short, or just don't look right,
well i’m not sure how to explain it very well (as always XD) but i’ll say more or less how i draw them(?)
with Shadow i sometimes start with the last quills; to make space for the ones that are up, and with Sonic’s i draw the upper one first because his quills are just going down..
with Shadow’s i sometimes, (not always) i draw the upper quill a bit shorter than i usually do with Sonic’s to leave some space between the second quill, so we can see Shadow’s hairstyle shape more clearly
and about the large of the quills.. i think its something that depends on the artists sometimes.. its not something constant in canon art either, some draw their quills very large, and some other draw them short.. in my case i just draw them long enough to not make them look like their head is very heavy and more or less to make clear what shape they have in their “hairstyle” XD..
here’s a sort of .. parallel thing.. XD Sonic and Shadow’s quills together..
hope that helps somehow.. ^_^;
