from blood to ink...

where is home?

some people can pin point a place and call it home

some people found home in the arms of someone they love and trust 

home is that place and that feeling you always go back too 

it a place that gives you peace

at home you can be your silliest self and be comfortable with it

at home you do not hide

there's a sense safety at home

it nurtures you like no other place can

is it strange then that I feel most at peace between the walls of a strange city 

my silliest most comfortable state of being is with people people who’s language I do not understand, whose way of life  is new to me 

I feel at home between the earth and the stars 

when the wind id taking me to new lands

lands that nurture my soul

home is all the places I will not stay long enough to settle in 

As a tck I'm always and will always be interested in culture.

Signing up for this class was an easy, almost natural decision.

What I didn't think to process, was the fact that my being a tck and the confusion of it all meant that I had no answers or perhaps to many answers to the questions that they asked in class.

For example when they ask what are some of the festivities celebrated in your culture?

Well which one?

They ask what are some of the traditions that your culture has ...

Again, they all have many different ones so which one ?

I found myself obligated to pick one, when of course that does not define me ,but is only part of the mixture.

I never thought I would feel out of place in a cultural awareness class...

But here I was , understanding it all and yet still confused about my own...
