In just a few days, July 17th is National Tattoo Day in the United States and Canada, a day to recognise the history, culture, and artists dedicated to etching ink permanently on the skin. This week's wincest fic recs, not suprisingly then, are about tattoos - getting them, having them, inking them, the anti-possession ones on their chests and new ones. I tried to "narrow" down, I really did but I love tattoo fics so this list was the best I could do. Hope you enjoy!

Sam clearly connected with Missouri on a deeper level, she sensed his psychic abilities and treated him with genuine warmth and understanding. Yet when the show brings her back later for that farewell moment, it’s Dean who gets the heartfelt goodbye. Why does the more distant brother get the big emotional payoff?

It’s the same pattern with Jack. From the moment Jack was born, Sam was the one who was patient, supportive, and truly understanding with him. He defended Jack when Dean wanted nothing to do with him and saw him as a threat. Sam acted like a real parent (mother) — encouraging, teaching, and believing in Jack’s potential to be good.

Dean, on the other hand, was cold, distrustful, and outright jerkish toward him. Yet the series and fandom still push the narrative that Dean is Jack’s supportive father figure, giving him the "proud dad" moments while Sam’s profound, more consistent bond gets downplayed.

Sam has always been the one who loved dogs. Dean openly wasn’t a dog person for most of the series. But when they finally get a dog in the final season, Miracle somehow becomes "Dean’s dog," with the sweetest, most affectionate scenes focused on Dean hugging him and letting him in the Impala. Sam gets far fewer meaningful moments with him, even though it would have fit Sam’s character so much better.

Over and over, writers erase or downgrade Sam’s deeper connections and strengths so Dean can have the big, crowd-pleasing, tear-jerking scenes.

Adam deserved better….

It’s a Long, Long Road by  Twisted-Slinky   Pre-series AU. Dean’s sleeping off a hunt when he gets a call from a kid claiming to be his half brother. The weirdest part? It’s true. He’s already had one brother leave him, and Dean doesn’t want to chance another rejection from his own blood, but for some reason, he can’t simply forget Adam Milligan exists, even if he knows it would probably be safer for both of them.
