Welcome, Dreamers!
🛏️ INTRODUCTION 💤 I want to preface this by saying that I've been lurking in Hellenic Polytheist/Hypnos Devotee spaces on tumblr for a while and felt compelled to create my own blog to better interact with the community. I'd say I'm… semi-closeted? So, I'm keeping this mostly anonymous, and don't really have an alias to go by, but I am 24 at time of writing, use he/they pronouns, and I am bi and non-binary! While I am keeping this blog somewhat compartmentalized, I have, do, and will interact with other HelPol blogs from my main blog, so if anyone draws a connection between them I ask that you do not speak publicly on it.
🛏️ BACKGROUND 💤 While I don't have a proper label for myself at the moment, I've been exploring my relationship with religion and spirituality for a long time. I was raised generally secular, but definitely around Baptist Christianity before becoming atheistic-- quickly to agnostic during adolescence. I haven't really been actively practicing any kind of witchcraft or the like, at least not in a way where I'd ever move past the imposter syndrome, but I've closely known many people under pagan or witch umbrellas over the years. I've been largely calling myself a pagan lately with no more specificity to it because I feel I haven't have a firm grasp on what specifically felt right to me anymore. However, over the past year I (somewhat accidentally) slid into fully worshiping Lord Hypnos. I followed tons of tumblr blogs, learned more and more, and just sort of… settled in. While this feels right, I'm still always learning and open to incorporating more into my practices and beliefs.
🛏️ INTENTIONS 💤 That being said, this blog will be a learning tool for broader HelPol topics for me, a deeper point of connection to the community I've been following the past year or so, and of course, a virtual altar for dedications to Hypnos. While Hypnos is my main focus, I have been lightly worshiping Nyx and Thanatos as well, with interest in other deities (mostly, but not limited to, the Cthonic) as well, as I learn more. Over time, this blog may grow to reflect that.
Sweet dreams!
