Adrian was the result of an affair between his father a druskelle and his mother a novyi zem tradeswoman. At the news of his mother being pregnant, his father stopped visiting his mother, something which did not change after adrian was born. Raised by his mother in Shriftport, Novyi Zem, adrian learned the trade of his mother, along with the importance of love, she was a kind and caring woman who passed on that everyone should be treated with love and respect, whether they were grisha or non-grisha. His easy and loving childhood however did not last, and had to be said goodbye to as his mother died rather suddenly of disease when he was 12.
As his only still living relative, Adrian was ordered by his father to join him in Fjerda, half way across the world. Upon arrival it became clear he was unwanted there by his fatherâs family and his father, but seeing as he did not have a son from his wife, only 4 daughters, adrian was considered useful to some degree. Their relationship was always strained, and barely improved, not by his fatherâs attempt to bond with him by teaching him the teachings of fjerdan culture, nor when he insisted him to train to become a part of the druskelle order like his father, as these teachings and trainings were the complete opposite of the teachings his deceased mother had given him. Eventually Adrian gave in, as living at home had become unbearable. He even became somewhat amicable with his father, as he was proud his son was following in his footsteps. For all intents and purposes, adrian is the perfect druskelle, but there will always be a conflict within him. While heâll always see a mission through and finish it, heâll occasionally veer off.
Adrian did have two negative experience with grisha, one of his half-sisters was murdered by one, the one half-sister he actually had a bond with and cared for, and the second which he did not care for but at least respected as she was always taking care of the family who experienced an accidental death as collateral damage.
