Decided to take a break from SomethingTale and do something random. Meet my vision of a swap version of Deltarune.
Duppet Priver was once the Empress's entertainer. He and his friends would perform short stories—either funny, tragic, or otherwise.
One day, Duppet came across an interesting book that told of some kind of prophecy. Priver loved this story so much that he decided to bring it to life on stage. But he wanted more than just a retelling; he wanted to add unpredictability, he wanted to add twists.
He came to the Empress with this idea and told her that he wanted to create a huge fictional adventure in which she and her son, Singerly, could put aside all their affairs and feel like heroes of history.
At some point, Duppet became obsessed with this idea, and when the Empress approved it, he decided to devote all his energy to its implementation. He stopped sleeping and refused to give himself or his friends days off. He even began bribing the castle staff to help. However, over time, the requests began to escalate, and Duppet began asking friends and other actors to play his part better. Even when everything was perfect, he continued to look for flaws.
Eventually, Duppet began to lose himself in his thoughts and slowly burn out.
Because of this, it was decided to suspend him from work for a short time to allow him to rest and regain his strength. After all, the Empress didn't set strict deadlines for his work.
However, Priver didn't take this gesture as anything but helpful. He felt like they'd gotten rid of him, that they no longer needed his ideas, and that there was someone better.
Sitting in his home, he screamed so loudly, her tears fell to the ground so loudly that even a Stranger from the street heard him.
This stranger offered to help Duppet Priver, he gave him a Shard of Light.
A tiny piece of light, so shapeless, yet so bright and beautiful. So full of light, so full of power.
And then Duppet realized, it dawned on him. He realized that the story he'd found wasn't just some kind of prophecy. This story was about him, and many of the details in the book matched what he saw around him. There were no detailed descriptions of faces, no names, but Duppet put it all together in his head so that it fit perfectly with his whole life.
He decided that he was destined to become what fate had prepared for him.
He found one character in the book who was so similar to him. However, there were some inconsistencies. So Duppet scoured various parts of the dark world. And having found the necessary parts, he assembled an improved body for himself, which perfectly matched the description in the book.
In our time, Duppet can be found near the Empress's Castle. There we'll find a huge mine with decorations, and at the very end there will be an old train, from inside which a quiet voice will be heard. Having met three heroes, he will believe that they are the Empress and the other two dark ones that once locked him here. He will ask to be released, since he has realized all his mistakes and that he was wrong, which of course will turn out to be a deception.
Well, the battle with Duppet Priver will take place on the roof of a train that cannot be stopped.
