From Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s episode “Josh Is Irrelevant.”
Honestly, it’s a little creepy how many photos on this tumblr are just women taking baths. Nonetheless, here’s a photo from Black-ish’s episode “The Leftovers.” I appreciate so much that a fire actually starts because of the irresponsible candle use.
Hey Mike’s mom, maybe you would have more time to soak in the tub if you hadn’t set up fifteen candles beforehand.Â
But honestly, I am sort of impressed she can even read the romance novel in that lighting.

The Welcome Center from Bioshock Infinite.Â
You guys set up this many candles for your baths, right? From American Horror Story’s episode “The Seven Wonders.”
Candles on stairs at foot height. And these are wooden stairs. That are clearly dilapidated. And the candles aren’t even, like, on a tray or anything. They are just ON the wooden stairs.
Darklight Tower in Skyrim. I give some leeway to Skyrim because there's no electric lightning, but man, candles at foot level on a staircase with no railing seems like a bad idea.
Of COURSE my least favorite episode of the X-Files (”3″) would have a scene with too many candles. This is during the “hot tub blood-sucking seduction” scene. I don’t know if this scene is more or less alarming than the “Mulder shaving seduction” scene we get later on in the episodes (I HAAAATE this episode). At least that scene doesn’t involve candles, I guess.

A scene from 30 Rock’s episode “Corporate Crush.” In context, this is actually satirizing the use of candles, so yay.Â
The Ritual Stone in Skyrim. 24 candles. On the ground. Considering the weird mages who hang out here always wear long robes, I would be worried they would catch fire. #Skyrim #somanycandles
Community’s episode Advanced Advanced Dungeons and Dragons...look at all these candles. I had to take three screenshots. Admittedly Annie does seem like the kind of person who would light a lot of candles, but aren’t she and Abed strapped for cash? I count, like, 60 candles in this scene. Jesus, Annie.
This scene from The Office’s episode Garage Sale has so many candles, I couldn’t fit them in one screen cap. So here are two.
Look at those little candles. If you were in that tub, wouldn’t you be worried that you might accidentally extinguish those candles or burn yourself on them? Not Monica and Chandler, though. They are fearless.

Friends strikes again! Even considering this episode takes place during a blackout, this is still an insane number of candles (31 on screen at the moment, by my count). My favorites are the candles behind Phoebe in that hallway no one ever uses...why do they need those candles there?
It’s not just movies and TV shows that have a lot of candles. Video games do, too. Maybe at a first glance, this shot from Skyrim doesn’t seem like there are a lot of candles (there are about 15, by my count), but that’s still a lot when you consider this is a long abandoned tomb. Why were these candles even lit in the first place? Have they been lit for centuries? Are these magical candles?
Probably. I mean, it is Skyrim, so that’s possible.
