Now what exactly do I mean by that? Obviously it isn't JUST a love story, obviously there are other themes present in the first Life Is Strange. How could I possibly narrow it down to one, singular, thing?

Because throughout this entire game, this entire story... There is one through-line that connects Max's actions to everything else: Max's love for Chloe.

Now, this isn't just me being a Pricefielder, although I adore them as a romantic couple. I mean this as a baseline as well: No matter what you choose to do, whether you romance Chloe or you're just really good friends, Max's first and only priority throughout this entire game is keeping Chloe safe. The one thing that she is the most focused on is Chloe; reconnecting with her, sharing moments, protecting her...

Some people may bring up the endings and counteract my point, "If you have Chloe die, how is that still a love story?"

Let me ask you this, dear user: Do you think love stops at death? Or does it inform grief? Because I don't know about you... I think the fact that Max grieves so intensely that she refuses to let Chloe go in either timeline SHOWS how deep her love goes.

In every timeline, in every turn of events, Max will always love Chloe.
