the tall, black haired boy scoops you up by the back of your knees, hoisting you up like you weighed nothing. like it was nothing.

you were off 2… maybe 3 drinks. somewhere in, you lost cost. and somewhere in, the memory of you and sero practically grinding on each other at that party while pyramids by frank ocean played was sure to haunt you in the morning.

somewhere in, you seemed not to care that much right now.

"hardheaded.." sero sighed as you laughed in his arms, your legs dangling as he walked.

"’m an independent womann, sero.."

"mhm. i know."

"…why you so tall?"

"…to carry pretty, drunk girls like you around."

"..mm. th’t makes sense.."

funny, you were too drunk to catch the spoken coma in that sentence.

he carried you all the way back to your dorm, like any friend would. he even grabbed a hoodie from your closet for you to change into, and helped you take off your makeup… like any.. friend? would.

..except sero doesn’t do this. if you were anyone else, he would’ve dropped you off at the door and either stumbled back to his own, or fucked around and went back to the party after taking his drunk friend home. even mina doesn’t get treatment like this.

…but you’re you.

"y’ going back to your dorm, sero…?"

he sees the look in your eyes and he pauses. god, please help him.

"you kicking me out?"

"’m asking."

sero doesn’t do this. if you were anybody else, he would’ve gladly kicked himself out to go smoke himself to sleep. or maybe even hit up denki and the boys to see if they were still up late. but for you?

he sat in your bed, waiting until you talked yourself to sleep.

"did y’ have fun..? i had fun tonight.. th’nks for forcing me outside.." you slurred, the combination of you being drunk and high getting to you. he looked over at you, hiding his smile,

"..yeah, i had fun. glad you did too."

what he forgets about pretty, drunk girls you ask? they like to ask questions.

"when we was dancing.."

"…yeah?" he turns to you, not liking where this inquiry seems to be going. he shouldn’t have got you high.

"if i was a random girl, would y’ have kissed me or somethin’..?"

and if it was anybody else, his answer would be maybe. he’s had his fair share of drunk kisses and hookups, but none of them meant much. and you know that. even when you’re intoxicated, you can read him like a book.

…which is probably why he didn’t kiss you. you mean a lot to him. more than he’s ready to tell you.

"if i was a random guy, would you have?"

"ew sero, i don’t kiss random dudes ‘n’ shit…"

he nods in response. he knows that.

"and you’re not a stranger.."

"..yeah, i’m not."

"y’r danger though." you murmur, turning to him. he really wishes you would stop looking at him.

"you think i’m trouble?"

"yeah, y’ play too much."

and maybe he does. he knows he does, actually. but… he wants to tell you what you mean to him. he wants to court you. he wants to take you seriously. and he doesn’t remember the last time he felt that way about anyone.

but that can be a problem for the morning.

for now, note to self: stay away from cutwaters around your best friend that you have a crush on.
