because why would he of all "side" characters have equally as much merch as the main trio if he wasn't supposed to live a lot longer initially and become an important character in the future volumes

it feels so STRANGE rereading volume 2 like how in the beginning Yui often interacts and talks with Suisei, disagrees with him and tries to think about his logic and there are REAL dialogues between them. And then we abruptly switch to "he's eating rice, let's not bother him" or "well, let's wait for 7 am. so we don't ask Suisei to open the door for us, let's not distract him."
