Holy Ghost

Most depictions of Rapunzel I’ve seen are blonde. And when you grow up blonde with everyone around thinking you’re a girl you get told over and over again that you should feel lucky and people would kill to have your hair etc etc and the dramatic changing of your hair is treated as a crime on the basis that you’re blonde and supposed to be a girl so no matter how much you do or don’t like your hair it’s a symbol of your femininity and everything a girl ought to be.

Disney’s Rapunzel especially resonated with me as a closeted preteen.

when florence and the machine said "I find that happiness is an extremely uneventful subject" and when romeo x juliet said "a simple life with you would be paradise" and johnathan coulton said "it's okay, I like you in glasses" and everything everywhere all at once said "in another life I would have really liked just doing laundry and taxes with you"
