characters can change a lot in their fleshing out and creation and it's good not to get too precious with specific minor details early on
an example with mine that I think about sometimes is the fact that in my much earlier notes from before they were truly characters, the rough dialogue from TJ and Lilith's first meeting involved the spelling of Sikopomp vs Psykopomp, but that got dropped completely both because I ended up making Lilith more pedantic and because TJ ended up being a high school dropout who struggles with reading, so it didn't make sense as an interaction to have TJ question someone else's spelling, and I ended up just going with the Psykopomp spelling from the start because having the spelling change didn't really serve anything in the story or for the characters
And what if rap WAS only about sex, violence, and drugs... what then? Would you be justified in looking down upon it as not being "real" art? What would your justification be? Sex is immoral and taboo? Drugs should never be mentioned outside of D.A.R.E programs? Songs about violence turn children to it? Would you turn that standard to other genres as well? I know you wouldn't, I know you haven't, because it's never really been about the topics explored.
