We need more love, acceptance and peace in this world, not guns, judgement or anger.

Have you ever had somebody who treats you terribly, but no matter what, you care for them? You listen, try and be kind and keep them happy. You keep wanting to be their friend even though they don’t really care about you? Think about Sharpay from the movie everyone has seen, High School Musical; she treats her brother Ryan SO badly, but he still listens and pays attention and does what she says. You ever done that? Well, I have, until one morning I decided I was not going to keep taking the punch. We spend so much energy and tears into worrying about those who don’t actually care about us. We put so much effort into trying to impress those who don’t give us more than 10 seconds thought. We cry about how they hurt us, but we give them the gun. Stop giving power to their words and actions. We need to start investing in people who love our personalities and not our image, the people who care about our feelings and not the shoe brand we wear or the type of phone we have. Those are the people that stick by us when we hit the bottom, when we have no money or energy to force a smile…and then we need to ask ourselves, how hard are we working on our relationships with Those people? Think about it, the person you are trying SO hard to be friends with, how many times do they ask you, “How are YOU doing?” There is your answer. Now, don’t go flip off all the people who don’t really care and don’t go badmouth them, but rather, mile and wave. Let them go. Let the issues and forced friendships go. Love those who love you and invest where you get a return. So, at the end of the day, do you want to keep shedding tears for those who don’t shed tears for you or do you want to share laughs with those who want to see you smile?

All around us we are being told that we should strive to be a little weird or be a little crazy and that it is good to be different, but nowhere has anybody said that it is good to be ordinary. I love different, I embrace different, but I also appreciate ordinary. Why try and be different or ‘weird’ when you could just be a ordinary person with an ordinary life and make it the best ordinary life you can. Yes, we need to live life to the fullest and yes, it is important to take risks, but it is also awesome to be a normal person with a simple life. I am not the most exciting person, but I strive to have the best ordinary life there is. I love it when people are confident with their ordinary-ness, if that makes sense. Be that ordinary girl/boy, doing ordinary things, but make it the best ordinary you can, because being normal is also awesome.
