An architectural web of threads subtends a null space. It hangs abstract and undefined, a set of thin positive elements segmenting the dark negative space between. Dynamic imaginary forms are articulated into the physical volume by the material of this thread, and the semi-material of the light. The visual gravity of the filaments occupying the space between.

The concept store Colette commissioned us for postcards underneath the theme of Parisian scenery. We selected black and white pictures of Parisian monuments from dated archives. At that time, we were experimenting with applying paint textures on visuals. We wanted to associate the unexpected colours and relief of the paint with the romantic feel of the photographs. "Using my own hand as a base material, I considered it a canvas upon which I stitched into the top layer of skin using thread to create the appearance of an incredibly work worn hand. By using the technique of embroidery, traditionally employed to represent femininity and applying it to the expression of itâs opposite, I hope to challenge the pre-conceived notion that âwomenâs workâ is light and easy. Aiming to represent the effects of hard work arising from employment in low paid ancillary jobs such as cleaning, caring, and catering, all traditionally considered to be âwomenâs workâ"
