Thinking about my shuffle unit AU genuinely makes me insane, like ARRRGH I can't focus on what I want!
So I'll tell you how I first came up with the units.
It started out as an AU where I took the SEKAI Leaders and have something happen to SEKAI and they wake up in an alternate life (the shuffle) and they have to figure out how to get home.
The rules of the shuffle were simple:
1. The SEKAI leaders were in separate groups still
2. All units have to be completely shuffled (ex. Ichika and Saki couldn't be in the same group)
Then it was getting everyone together!
I remember wanting to have An and Tsukasa in the same team after seeing another shuffle AU on Twitter. I also thought it would be funny to put Shiho and Tsukasa in the same unit together haha. An and Shiho also had that event together so the pieces just started to fit! Then I remembered Haruka and An are friends and Haruka also gets along with Shiho! IT'S ALL COMING TOGETHER!
Kanade and Honami already know eachother and Nene and Akito are a fun duo to me and seemed like to be in a "online" type group.
I already knew I wanted Kohane to do theater in this AU, and I couldn't bear to separate Emu from Phoenix Wonderland. Airi and Ena are already childhood friends so added them to the troupe.
Minori Saki Toya and Mizuki were the leftovers lol but I made them work
(These were supposed to be placeholder units in this au (as it would be focusing on the canon leaders) and then at certain point I got really attached to these groups haha. I never did continue that AU, but kept the units)
How I came up with the names:
The name POP☆BASE was first made after I thought it sounded cool, POP coming from "a pop of color" and BASE since they are starting something new together (The star is because of Tsukasa lol). Yes, I know there's that Twitter account but shhhh this isn't about them.
Lumina (meaning "light") was named as to "look in the light in the darkness" which fits these sad kids nicely.
Fuwa Fuwa Wonder is from the onomatopoeia meaning "fluffy" and they're a troupe working at the wonder stage.
Shining Daze was a fun name! Shining as we have some of the brightest characters in the group (Minori and Saki) and Daze coming from a place of uncertainty and confusion (since they all have their own doubts to deal with). It can also be read as "Shining Days" as to "look forward to a bright future!"
fallin' is because their colors being an autumn palette and the act of falling as they all feel they've been knocked down to a point of no return. (They were also named after the SEVENTEEN song "Fallin' Flower")
That's all I have to say for now, I've hit a roadblock in this AU (especially with fallin') so it's been very slow...
