I am just curious. I saw in one of your tweets that you ship Olicity too. May I know your thoughts about this ship? Is your love for Olicity the same as your love for Snowbarry? I am a fan of yours, and I like how you wisely answer questions and hate messages.

Well, I have to be honest with you. I so love the dynamic of Olicity during Season 2. I love that little crush Felicity have for Oliver every time she sees him shirtless. I think thatâs the moment where I became an official shipper.
But things change, and so my perception of this ship. If youâre an Olicity shipper, I am sorry but these are NOW my thoughts regarding Olicity and how I donât want these to happen to my SnowbarryâŚ
WARNING: To my other Snowbarry friends who also ships Olicity, I donât mean to hurt you, but this post is about how I am once an Olicity Shipper, and later  on, decided to stepped out of this ship. Just donât read it if youâre sensitive. After all, we still have the same love for Snowbarry, so please donât hate me for this.Â
This will be a long post, because this will be the first & last time that I will talk about Olicity on this blog, unless they will enlighten me again this coming Season 4.
Well, Iâm a solid Snowbarry shipper, but I have to say Iâm not purely an Olicity shipper anymore. I used to ship them in Season 2, because I love their cute interactions during those days, those were simple moments, yet sweet. But Iâm afraid I was a bit turned off on how they made Olicity seems forced in Season 3. I mean, knowing Felicityâs personality, I am expecting that it will be her who will be more showy of her feelings to Oliver, then later on, Oliver will just realize that he likes her too. But it became the other way around. In the first part of season 3, Oliver was actually the one who told Felicity that he likes her. I somehow donât like this transition.
I remember in the last part of Season 2, where Sladeâs army are attacking the city, it showed that Oliver still cares for Laurel more than anyone else. He wants to make sure her safety first, and thought of just letting Diggle and Felicity to get the cure because he wants to accompany Laurel in going to the precinct. Somehow I felt like his feelings for Laurel are still there during those moments. That âlove youâ scene in the Queenâs mansion, I have to say that at first, I really felt bad that itâs just a trick. I almost fall for it. But later on, I realized, if thatâs true, I wouldâve been shocked as well like, âWait where the hell did that come from? And how?â
Then Season 3 came, and it totally turned into Olicty. Really? as if he had no history with anyone else at all. Iâm sorry but I am actually particular with these kinds of transitions. Yes Olicity happened, but I donât like the way they did it. We know Oliver is a playboy, but at least they shouldâve shown us how and when he started to have feelings for Felicity if they are actually planning to make them a thing.
I get it that during the first time Barry came to Starling City, there are some sort of âjealousyâ that Oliver felt, but honestly, I felt that itâs just Oliver being concerned of Felicity in a brotherly way. Because they still donât know Barry, and yet Felicity already trusts him. The romantic jealousy is just a secondary thought to that, if youâre already shipping them. But to a normal fan, itâs just like how Oliver is concerned with Thea meeting random guys. Not to mention that Sara was Oliverâs girl in season 2.
Weâve known that Felicity is already attracted to Oliver ever since, but they lacked in showing Oliverâs side on this. Yes we saw some sweet things that Oliver did to Felicity, but those were not enough to say that heâs totally falling for her. I also donât like the idea of Felicity from being a jolly, cute, IT genius who always lightens up the situation transforming into becoming a very emotional, selfish, and obsessed lover to Oliver in S3. I am sorry for the words, but thatâs what I think happened, and we have to open our eyes that they really did that to our Felicity. It appears that because of Olicity happening that fast, Iâm afraid that it wonât last long as well :(
I just hope they wonât do the same Olicity thing to Snowbarry. Iâd rather choose their cute friendship and their simple âIâm always here for you because I care for youâ gestures, than seeing them happen just because the fandom wanted them to be, that will definitely affect their character development. I donât want them to be forced that way. I can now accept that they are giving Barry a new love interest, but please, donât they dare take away Barry and Caitlinâs friendship/connection, because thatâs the most precious thing for me right now.
Just to clear my thoughts for you, I donât hate Olicity.. I still love them, but I really felt sad on what they did to Felicityâs character just to make them possible.
