Yes, S is canonically aroace and Sparky and I have put thought into all the sexualities of each of the PaS characters! Since you're asking for just the variables, here they are!:

S - Aromantic Asexual

T - Spectrasexual

Q - Homosexual

R - Homosexual

I - Aceflux

I’ve been under the assumption I got him, but I also notice how much R likes cats (as seen in the backgrounds like his bedroom lamp and him pointing out the cat-like statue in episode 2) so is Soup his cat?

Soup is very much I's pet before anyone else's, so you would be right to first assume that I got him! We just have a lot of cat fans in the variable house. A fun little tidbit and history you might enjoy is that all of the PaS cats have irl counterparts (there are 4 of them, but we've only shared art of 3 of them so far) and we tend to tie in the origin of these cats to how they came into the lives of myself and Sparky. With that being said, Soup was part of a litter that was abandoned within a box somewhere on Equation Playground. He was the runt of his litter and was given to I by an acquaintance of theirs. He was raised up from a little kitten and is now a very loved, fluffy, spoiled boy! : ]

oooh this is a fun question I : I honestly don't think I would put much thought into it. I think she'd really like animals that are symbols of strength like lions and bulls, but if you were to ask her in person, she'd say, simply, "Soup."

Last but not least, here's the first ever picture I EVER made of S. They were originally going to have freckles when we were making concepts of them...but we decided they looked weird enough.

ooooh boy...this answer actually has a bit of lore. So! Most people don't know this about PaS, but the vast majority of the story has been written through a long, long, ongoing roleplay between Sparky and myself. About 4-5 years in the making at this point. The RP itself has been cleaned up and organized to be the show that you see today. While the episodes are not prewritten, the general, overarching plotline the show will take has been and is a mere snippet of the ever-ongoing lives of these characters. When we locked in on making the show, we formulated a timeline of the characters, relationships, and arcs that span, in their lives, over thousands and thousands of years. The SHOW is a snapshot on that timeline. When I updated the chart, I removed characters like Clover because they simply don't exist yet. The new chart is canon to the show, and all the characters on it exist in the present. Clover hasn't been born yet, technically, and won't be born during the run of the show. Think of him and other algebraliens we have like him such as Phi and Orange Unequal Sign as like...future fankids. Canon in our hearts and our RPs, but never in the show itself.
