Except no.

For one thing, he always respected Lily saying "no."

And for another—in case those morons have forgotten—the HP universe has things called love potions!

Snape literally *could* have acted like Bear, yet he never did!

Especially since, in canon, it was James whom Harry himself suspected of using a love potion on Lily—that’s how much of a moron and a bully his father was, and how clearly his mother’s "no" was treated as optional.

Severus Snape… the guy who backed away from Lily the moment she told them they were going their separate ways, the guy who knows what it feels like to be stalked and tormented, the guy who put his life in immense danger to ask Dumbledore to protect Lily and then asked him to protect the Potters, the guy who—from the point on—gave up his own life and freedom to protect Harry Potter for Lily… THAT Severus Snape??

I do think Snape had an unhealthy attachment to Lily, but it wasn’t ill-intended or creepy. He heavily blames himself for her death and feels like he can never redeem himself for it

So to whoever's on the "Snape taught himself to speak to hide his poverty roots and that's why he talks so differently as an adult" train, the little boy who plays young Snape on the full-cast audiobook has a speech impediment. He can't pronounce his r's.

The hate my boy Severus gets it's very...not deserved, especially if we compare it to worse yet loved characters from other shows.

Sev is an arsehole, I love him, but the hate he gets it's so, overexaggerated, Loki from marvel, he's really fucking loved, but he's done worse shift than Severus, so has Hannibal from the TV show.

Hell, let's say Voldemort/Tom riddle, he's really loved as well, but people hate on Severus more, cause he insults some kids, if I were in his position I would have been worse, he has a whole lot on his plate, being a spy, a potion teacher, dealing with idiots every single day.

Neville's boggart was Snape, well, Hermoine's boggart McGonogall. McGonogall is far from a perfect teacher, she has a bunch of flaws as well.

Snape haters talk about Snape as if he is hitting the kids every fucking day, but if i recall correctly, the only time he lashed out was when Harry looked into his pensive, and Snape threw something at him. I think that reaction is real fucking valid.
