Lighting and the loud punch of thunder a couple seconds later. Raindrops bouncing off an umbrella.
"The weather will only get worse, you need to hurry up with an answer."
Blood drips into the mud. Like a pillow of light in a pristine white Hana uniform, he towers over such a pathetic scene.
"Wonderful opportunity, if you ask me."
Once in a life-time offer, more than half of The City is dreaming about it right now. Must be a concussion-induced delusion.
"What's in it for you?" Isaac finally asks, he'd spit into the association representative's face if he could.
"I don't know, man, I'm just following orders. Should be pretty obvious: you are a serious threat and Hana wants you on a leash."
Water runs down the face, fingers dig into the sludge. A colorful spark breaks the grayscale scene, but does nothing helpful. Nose gets all runny from the cold. Isaac employs all of his strength just not to sniff and fails miserably.
Doesn't matter at this point.
"Why not put me down like a 'violent uncontrollable animal' they keep calling me in every news article?"
"Ah, that is the second option if you refuse!" His voice was disproportionately cheerful, "So what is it? Bounty on your head or a guilded cage?"
A helping hand is offered to him, but Isaac gets up, ignoring it — not without trouble— and steps under the umbrella.
"Issac Wau, looking forward to our cooperation!" the Hana representative says with a smile and a firm handshake.
A bit crowded for two people, shoulders brush against each other. Faint heat radiating from another living being is prickly on a cold skin, even though the fabric.
"Don't disappoint them, I vouched for you after all," Wau casually shakes dirt off his hand.
"Didn't you just say you only follow orders?!"
"That I did. Who knew higher-ups would listen to my advice?"
"Nuh-uh, your life is mine now."
