원륜 삶과 춤 조흥동 60주년 기념공연 [조흥동 춤의세계]
090312.Me myself at the Hanguk Performing Arts Center..
First time watching Korean Traditional Dance. Cho Hung-Dong (조흥동) The main actor who celebrated his 60 years experienced in Korean Traditional Dance of Aristocrats. The performance is a non-verbal type which based on the traditional movements of Korean dancing, music and instruments.
There is no conversation at all during the whole performance. Luckily, you can enjoy the music as well as the story line which secretly hinted in every single scene.
This man is a legendary. Step by step. Smoothly paced well matched with the music. Move by move. Slowly dancing around himself.
..Feels like right at that moment is the echo of silences..

MUSICAL
뮤지컬 · 서편제
It began in the late afternoon of March 17, 2012. I spontaneously attended an interesting musical, at the Universal Art Center (유니버설 아트 센터) As my quick step at the outside ladder which brought me directly into the grand entrance, I briefly noticed and realized that this place is the most splendid Opera House I have ever seen in Korea.
-Universal Arts Center, Seoul-
In a few seconds, a typical melody dragged me to enjoy the story about Korean pansori singers, ‘Seopyeonje’ Hours passed in the darkness, I was shocked by the well-designed lighting that emerged all over the stage. Chapter after Chapter, each scene would light up in different colors and dimensions. Furthermore, the background music mostly produced by the modern-acoustic instruments. While perfectly combined the folk instruments together with the custom uniform.
-the Musical-
...Simply but Stylish...
Despite my expectations — this musical is totally worth seeing. Certainly, it is true that the language is still a big obstacle for me. Attending a performance which completely used the different language from my mother tongue. It is not the best way to enjoy the play but I believe there is no language barrier in terms of arts and music. Just sitting in a majestic opera house and make yourself ready for the dramatic storytelling since the very first composition.
One more thing, it was a bit surprised to me. Right after the lights were up and the curtains were closed, I just knew that the main actress who involved in the production of this musical is ‘Lee Jaram’ (이자람), one of the most creative pansori-singer of this era. Certainly, if you are into musicals, arts, dancing or just being a tourist, there is no reason to skip this chance. Apart from downtown sightseeing, shopping, exploring Korean series or even the K-pop culture, you will get surprised by this city. Seoul has many things much more than you imagine.
