hello tumblr! this blog, snailmailcollective, is a place to share, inspire, connect, and create art as an act of resistance. many of us in the world are scared right now. turning that fear into creation and action is how we resist.

on this blog, the admin will share art, writing, and resources that are aiding them in their resistance against fascism, surveillance, corruption, and plutocracy. not only do we fight against injustice, but we fight for community, intersectionality, human rights, the people's voice, and justice. please message us and submit any works you have that you feel align with our values - we will review and share if approved.

the fragility of the body is the most harrowing realization, at least it has been for me. over and over. i find myself in situations regarding my health often angered and frustrated over how the things that could have been might have made my experience easier. but we cant change the past. and in does seem that the hardest things are the things that make us grow. the things that help us bloom. each mark on our bodies are signs that we have lived, and they should be loved and celebrated as such. celebrate the overcoming of difficulty, of pain, and of hurt. this piece helped me explore that feeling, forcing me to look at my raw existence, and make myself see myself as beautiful.

i drew a bug. this is the bombardier beetle. it stores hydrogen peroxide and hydroquinone in separate pouches but when threatened releases the two together to mix and create a boiling hot explosion of harmful chemicals that can severely burn and poison predators.
