A very nice Anarchist tried to explain to Libs the point of covering your faces at a protest in the 50501 subreddit, and every lib in the comments is just saying
"Well theyre going to find me anyway, so I dont mask".
If you continue to go to 50501 protests, understand this is the viewpoint these libs have. Defeatism. "Theyre going to find me anyway idc". Ignoring that they arent "going to find you anyway", this idea that because things are bad you just Aren't Going To Follow Protest Safety is dangerous to everyone. Stop giving the state your info willingly, stop being a defeatist, wear your fucking mask and stop filming people.
RESIST! His speech was inspiring!
There was a grassroots-organized “No Kings On President’s Day” protest in Boston last Monday, and I’ve been meaning to post pictures I took of my favorite signs! Here they are:
and the one I made, which tore in the intense winds as soon as I unrolled it, which led to me running down a side street, borrowing a stapler from the nice girl at the Planet Fitness front counter, and doing some emergency poster surgery before running back to the crowd. Picture is pre-injury:
Will these protests have any sort of meaningful political impact? I hope so, but more important to me is the psychological effect on the average person— normal people showing up to protest, and more normal people passing by and seeing the marches and crowds, hearing the chants, seeing the handmade signs. Most Americans live so much of our political lives in isolation, doomscrolling on social media and Posting, and I know that when I scroll and post too much for too long, I feel shriveled and hopeless. Being out in the freezing cold in the midst of a shouting, marching crowd feels electrifying and hopeful, and very human and powerful.
I feel like this is a great time to remind everyone that the reasons the founding fathers fought the Revolutionary War were: 1) burdensome tariffs placed on goods imported into the colonies from other countries, 2) the suspension of the right to assembly and fair trial for political dissenters, and 3) violence towards colonial communities known for anti-imperial sentiment (The Boston Massacre, the burning of Falmouth, etc)
Trump's burrowing from someone's playbook and it ain't George Washington's.

As the president escalates his authoritarian power grab, the NO KINGS non-violent movement continues to rise stronger. We are united once ag
Elon Musk, an unelected billionaire who gained his wealth and power through apartheid and (more recently) lining Trump’s pockets during the 2024 presidential campaign, is essentially raiding the Treasury Department as we speak. Instead of having arm chair arguments over whether Musk was “pointing” at the inauguration, let’s see reality for what it is... our democracy is crumbling. It’s time to stand up and protest! Go to your state capital at noon (2/5/25) and join this historic protest to fight fascism!
