these moments, when lots and lots of people en masse are realizing how horrible things are, are a great moment to help bring people into deeper understanding of the systemic issues at play. a great moment to connect people to the work that's been ongoing. if we want to build an actual movement, if we want to succeed in resisting and toppling these systems, that needs to be built on far more than just a self-righteous leftier-than-thou attitude. if people want to get in this fight, hell yeah. that's what we need to win.

It's important to say it's always been this way, but you need to explain it like you're helping someone get to the end of a detective novel to figure out that it's been there the whole time. They still need to feel good about getting there.
