mmm, maybe so. but i, at times, forget some of those movies lol. it’s very easy to make a forgettable horror. and ah, never watched that movie! but come on, nonsensical body rubs for 10 min and that weird ‘tense’ walk montage for another 15 was what made 1313 Killer Bees well, 1313 Killer Bees. this is kind of movie, that you need to watch in order to believe, that it exists, haha.Â
but ah, 2021 wasn’t all that juicy for me media wise. i watched a few movies, that i’d call alright and somewhat fun, but they all lacked smth about them. be it not enough horror, not enough sense, boring characters, you know, the stuff! but here, is my lil list of what i consider to be ‘fine’ movies, that i’ve seen over the course of the year. it’s all pretty 4 out of 7.Â
The Wretched (2019). it had an interesting twist, that i actually didn’t see coming. and it rarely happens, bc i’m so used to horror just doing that exact thing, that i saw being done countless times. so when, it does smth other than that, welp. i had to give it the credit it deserved. like, overall, it was well-played and the open finale also leaves some sort of uneasiness going on.Â
The Dark and The Wicked (2020). that movie had some good scenes in it. some nice tension at times. and in general, i found story to be more humanized, then you’d expect from a movie, that went under the radar. it had some goofy moments in it too. like some of it kinda took away from the action/plot. but it did good with some moments there and here, and then with the general vibe of the movie. also it has a nice soundtrack. original one even! so that was pretty cool.Â
Paranormal Activity: next of kin (2021). this one…well, it was nothing too special, but i kinda liked it tbh. some of the visuals were nice. and i love the theme of isolation and witchcraft, esp if it’s done fairly well. or at least, not too cheap. the ending tho…well, i found it comical tbh. i think, that the movie was better without like last 5 min of it, haha.Â
Willy’s Wonderland (2021). there is nothing idk deep in that one. or even too serious. but i’ve enjoyed my experience with it! for the most part, it felt like a dark comedy with elements of horror. if one loves five Fnaf they might like this movie. it’s a fairly fun one!Â
that aside, while on my vacation, i’ve watched a few superhero movies as well. like i didn’t feel a need to do it, since i was a teen. but it was on tv, so i watched it. i watched some of that uuh new spiderman one. i don’t remember much, but i barked a laugh, when the blond chick died. bc it was so anticlimactic. like her death. and then, i watched logan, and it had such a serious tone to it compared to previous movies. i mean, i end up tearing up at the end, since i always loved that character. it’s like a very-very old childhood fav of mine, so seeing him suffering that much, ah, it was hard, haha.
but tbh, it’s all that i’ve got for 2021 lol. i didn’t found any endearing or touching movie. even tho i had like at least uh 3 of such favorites in 2020, if not 4.Â
