‘do you know how to fix a car?’ That was a very common question he received every so often and his answer changed as the years went by— depending on the automobile’s ‘issue’ that is. “Fix ‘em? It depends. I can take a quick look at it for you and if I can’t think of anything on the spot, we have people who handle this kind of stuff here.” Comes his uneager reply. Jonathan raises a brow and looks at the stranger for a moment.

“Honestly, my best advice is that you take it to a shop if you actually want it running but I’ll cut you a deal. If it’s not something that can be fixed just like that, I’ll call up an employee of mine and I’ll have ‘em get it running for you for a discount.” His intentions were good— the last thing he wanted was for someone to get stranded but he also didn’t want to put in a full day of effort for free especially not for a stranger.

Had any more desperation festered inside of him, one could have heard a loud sigh of relief but this time around it was hardly audible. Using his hand, Jonathan reached for the back of his own neck and rubbed it, feeling as if some stress had been thrown off of his shoulders as soon as his question was answered in a positive tone.

“You’re a lifesaver. This is the first thing that’s actually going my way since this morning. Thanks.” His last words were almost a mutter. He wasted no time following suit and walks with him, HOPEFULLY making his way to his destination.

“A guy gets told to go to this address, only to have it be on the other side of town. Seriously...” Comes a muttered ramble from the car salesman. That was something that was being fixed now, at least but he had to worry about thanking this guy somehow, even if he was going to the same destination, Jonathan felt as if he had troubled him. “So... Do you mind if I treat you to a drink or something sometime? Kinda feel like a bother here and I’m sure my grandmother would turn over in her grave if I didn’t show my thanks.” Offered the man, hoping that his attempt at a kind gesture didn’t come off as... creepy.

It’s not like it was uncommon for teenagers to try and sneak around these places in the middle of the night. That didn’t make it any less dangerous though. The fact that she said she’d seen him here a lot meant she had made it a habit to come here a lot... What a strange girl, he thinks.

With the cigarette between his finger, Jonathan brought it up to his lips and inhaled, he held his breath for a moment before exhaling the smoke to the opposite direction of the girl then used his free hand to scratch at his cheek. Seriously... "You know, a grown man talking to someone like you at this hour seems pretty sketchy. So if you have something to say, I’d make it quick.” Of course, all of this was just his assumption that she was underaged. This wouldn’t be the first time he’d fuck up and insulted someone unintentionally.
