I find this fascinating because C.S. Lewis has this whole theological argument about the pure and simple faith of children; and then it turns out that, when you show a movie based on a Bible story to kids who weren't raised in that tradition...they just end up thinking that God is a monster.

Hello person having transgender thoughts but convinced they aren't trans because they don't have the requisite amount of dysphoria they think they need

Hi I transitioned without even thinking I had dysphoria. Like later in hindsight I can go "oh that's probably what it was" but for the first year of my transition I was straight up like "I like being a guy but I like being a girl WAY more" and you can do that!! There is no prerequisite amount of suffering needed to make yourself happier.

I've worked machining, and fabrication several times in my life through gig companies.

The work in those factories is excruciatingly hard on your body, a former best friend of mine named shaggy lost a hand in a press, he had worked for this company for YEARS.

When he decided to take time off work to heal, they fired him, just like that, his kids? Went hungry and DHS took them, his disabled wife? Couldn't afford her medication anymore. Him? Couldn't work in fab/machine operating, without a hand or the insurance to buy a prosthetic.

Fuck rich nerds ( looking at you CGP grey and xkcd) us blue collar folks make this shit run, we put actual effort into It.

Not saying engineering isn't hard, but it's much Cushier than anything I've ever been allowed to do in my life.

observação positiva: eu costumava ter muita dificuldade em levantar tópicos mais difíceis ou desconfortáveis antes -- i.e. precisava de muito preparo psicológico e me sentia muito ansioso antes e depois. Mas não está tão ruim agora, e acho que deve ser porque eu tenho me disciplinado bastante para conseguir terminar (ESSA PORRA DESSA) a dissertação a tempo p/ qualificação.
