The sky was dark, clouds heavy with the weight of the storm they carried, thunder crashing down over the land as Samuel sat on the hood of his truck, clothes drenched and clinging to his form, jacket discarded inside the vehicle, sleeves pushed up to expose his forearms.

Albert knew he should have brought more than a flimsy umbrella, or even have tried to stay in the old cabin, but it would have been more of a detriment to stay in it, or had been before the storm. He'd atleast made it out of the woods. That might've been more of a mistake though, to leave the bit of reprieve the trees provided. His umbrella had flipped enough to fail to keep him even a modicum of dry, though he fought to keep his pack and books from becoming drenched.

Samuel's head lazily flopped to the side to see who was talking to him, hearing a voice had been the only thing to snap him out of staring up into storm. He just stared at the stranger in silence for a few moments before returning to look up.
