i acknowledge that there will be people that i’ll be uncomfortable with seeing on my dashboard, and i acknowledge that the people i follow will want to interact with them. out of respect, the identities of those i am uncomfortable around will remain anonymous. respecting their privacy is the best i can do despite my grudges.

the koorime; or the ice maidens, were an all-female race of humanoid aliens from the planet of hyouga. it was almost always cold, and it was covered in snow and mountain ranges. there were a few other species living on the planet, but the koorime were more common in occurrence. these women have incredibly long lifespans, as they appear quite youthful until their seven hundredth year.

to survive the cold, the ice maidens evolved and grew in-tune with the nature of their planet, and fused their spirit energy with the energy found in nature. the first ice maidens mastered the art of bending ice and snow to their will.

in order to keep their race alive; despite their refusal to interact with anybody outside of their society, they developed the ability to reproduce asexually every one hundred years. they are capable of producing offspring with other humanoid species, but because of their offspring growing up to be horrible people, the race shut themselves away front he rest of the world entirely.

yukina’s mother, hina, had slept with a fire apparition that was stranded on the planet, and later sired twins - yukina and her brother, hiei. being a fire apparition, the infant hiei was sent away to be raised by another family, leaving hina to die of a broken heart. this left yukina to be raised by rui, her best friend.

shortly before turning 90 years old, the planet was attacked by an unknown fleet, leaving all but one ice maiden killed. that sole survivor was yukina, who was taken away upon being discovered.for a time she’d be held for her tears; which crystallized on oxidation, to be used and sold as medicine on the markets across the galaxies - for some time outsiders were unaware that the source of this “medicine” was from a living, breathing individual.

yukina’s captors discovered her tears’ healing properties within the first five years of her captivity.
