I am an old and tired soul in a young and beautiful body

One step backwards, two steps forward.

Constantly watching a stream of people I want love anyone else is starting to weaken me.

I know that I will mean the world to someone someday. I am just getting tired of not meaning something to someone these days.

And the worst part is this isn't a crush. I don't ache for you every second of every day  I don't thirst for you like a drought does rain. You calm me.  You comfort me. You centre me. And when were together my heart does speed up, it glows.

You make me write poetry

The quiet part of my soul blends with the quiet part of yours.

"There is no way you're this oblivious, and if you are that is just cruel."

"I have built my kingdom all on my own, you must earn your right to enter."

Even if one day you decided I was the one, I don't know if I would accept that. Because I have loved you for years, and you were too blind to see that. And don't I want a person that feels a love that powerful and wants to give theirs in return?

Sometimes I think about how one day, ten years from now we could meet again.

Being considerate to one specific person does not make you a considerate person whatsoever.

Say my name like it's a benediction

You and me were like parallel lines; always close but never touching

Believing I needed anyone's love

Dear Body, I'm sorry I spent all of those years hating you. And I'm sorry I spent all those years not realizing how much I hated you. Beacause you have always been there for me, even when I didn't deserve it. Society made me believe that you weren't perfect enough because you didn't meet their airbrushed standards. But now I see past that Photoshop fog and I'm realizing that their is no perfect when it come to bodies. Our bodies should tell the story of our lives, of how much we've grown and what we've done. A body should be as unique as the life of the person in it. And so, little by little, I am learning to love you again, body. I am going to kiss every square inch until it feels better and heal you with my thoughts. I am going to love you. Because me and you, we have many years left together, and I have decided to spend them full of love and joy instead of full of hatred and negativity. I'm sorry I couldn't love you before, body. But I promise I will now. Sincerely, My mind, my soul.

She had little wrinkles around the outside of her eyes that she absolutely hated. Which I will never understand. Because these wrinkles, Are like tiny starbursts Or tree branches reaching towards her temples. And they only ever showed up because of how much she laughed. The pure joy she has felt Is permentaly etched into her face, How can you hate that?
