Half way there! For the first time in a long time I live somewhere I can actually have and use an amp. Picked up this excellent condition used Line 6 Spider IV 150 head. Gives me plenty of flexibility at home at a good price point. Next step will be getting a 4x12 cab for it, and then the FBV shortboard after that.

Finally got around to installing a set of PRS Tremonti pickups into my green Epiphone Les Paul Plus Top. This beauty is also an absolute beast now! Even coil tapped the bridge one, so instead of the single tone I got out of both of the old pickups, I can now get 3 distinct tones, and then just find the right amp to dial it in. I may flake out on some of my training during the next week or so to spend some more time with this girl.
Full song version, single take, of that guitar riff I posted months ago. Now I just have to flesh out the rest of the song O_o
The riffs themselves will likely see some changes, but I feel good about the overall chord progression.

The “new” computer dwarfing my 10 year old one. Running initial system tests then waiting for my upgrades to arrive over the next week. So psyched!
So we've got a computer that can actually handle recording now! Need a new audio interface though since the old card isn't compatible with the new hardware. Unfortunately that means we probably won't be up and running for real until at least sometime in late December. Soon.

While I had started to record a full song and started working on a couple new ideas, this has taken over my life. This will be a good thing in the long run. The only reason I've stopped is because my hands started to cramp up. Also, my neighbors are going to hate me.
An idea I had tonight that I needed to get down in audio before it slipped away. Definitely can feel this is going to grow into something cool. It's just a question of how long that will take.
The rack finally arrived and I've got everything hooked up. So ready to rock!
Look what came in the mail today! So, the pedal I ordered on friday shows up five days later, while the studio rack I ordered two weeks ago will arrive this time next week. Guess which of those companies I'm not ordering from again.
Quickly laid down this little guitar riff to help keep it in my head. Just need my studio rack to arrive in the mail so I can hook-up my proper amp modeler. Should give me enough time to build a song around it, as I have no plans for Thanksgiving. So psyched right now!

A quick message on promoting:
I'm not going to promote your band. Not because I don't like it necessarily, but because I don't want to get off track with this. This is as much for me to have a record of what I've been up to and if I'm being lazy or not, as it is to put stuff out there for the world to see/hear. I'm always willing to check out a new band, but if I posted every new band I listen to on here, their would be very little of my own material. Maybe I'll make another blog if people seem to care about what I listen to so much.
Next step:
Upgrade the LP with new electronics and maybe hardware. Then on to saving for a new computer.
