At night. I suggest you take the bed and I can sleep on the floor or on the chair. [Avery pointed at both things as he spoke and then shrugged. Derek quickly looked at him, shocked.]

What are you talking about?

Uh, how are we going to sleep? Since you do that now.

[He shook his head.] Avery, I’m not going to kick you out of your own bed.

Well, I can’t let you sleep on the floor. After all you did for me, it would be so ungrateful of me. So you take the bed.

Oh, yeah, because it’ll definitely be comfortable for you. [Derek scoffed, rolling his eyes.] It doesn’t matt- Yes, it does! Why are you like this?

I’m just- You can’t sleep on the floor. I would feel bad if I made you do that.

So would I. [Avery sighed.] Avery, I don’t even need to sleep.

You don’t?

No. I mean, maybe. I don’t know. But it wouldn’t matter, It wouldn’t be the first time I didn’t sleep at night. I’m pretty used to it by now, I’ll be okay.

Please, just sleep on the bed. That hard surface cannot be good for your wings. [Derek scoffed quietly.] I’ll sleep on the chair, I’ll be fine.

I’m already dead, I don’t care where I sleep or even if I sleep. You, on the other hand, are very much alive and you need a good sleep. I really doubt that you’ll get it from sleeping on the floor or even a chair.

Then what do you suggest? I don’t have anything else here.

Well, there is one thing i’ve been thinking.. Though you probably you won’t like it and it’s understandable. what i- I won’t be mad hey- if you say no. I’ll just sleep on the floor.

[Then he looked at how his wings were folded, almost hanging off the bed.] What about your wings?

No, no, I’m okay. [He moved closer to him, his wings on the mattress now.] I’m fine like this, I just can’t lay on my back, or squash them in any way.. It’s alright.

[Avery nodded.] I get it. well, then..

hi, it’s derek, avery gave me the phone to answer this personally.

about the knowledge.. i still know everything i knew before, it just.. doesn’t get updated. it stopped after I.. well, died. that’s why I had to see if Avery’s alive okay. I don’t know what’s going on inside his head anymore. it feels like i lost a part of me, but I know it’s for the better. he deserves privacy.

it’s kind of weird. but at least i can look away from the screen lol. small blessings right?
