Meeting Sophie Cooper I met Sophie Cooper at the New Music Biennial 2025, during the first rehearsal of the March by Uri Agnon. Sophie was one of the event organisers, working with Contemporary Music for All. As one of the first participants to arrive, I was welcomed warmly by her. An Artist’s Vision Sophie is a trombonist and composer, as well as an artist with her own studio in…

Devastating news about Ron, fellow band member, and close friend, I am still struggling to accept that we have all lost him.

Schillinger’s Book “Mathematical Basis for the Arts” influenced many of my creative musical ideas before computer technology was widely avai
he original idea and theme for this piece was written for a trombone trio in 1980, I was never happy with the middle section so ended up re-writing it after I left University, unfortunately the final version was never heard again until I return to playing the trombone once again during the global pandemic of 2020 when I played and recorded all the parts. I later added a couple keyboard improvisations using string sounds and then combine all the elements together. I have always like the classic music from the late romantic period, although this composite recording is not suitable for use at a wedding there is passionate undercurrent running though the music.
