I suppose growing up means your identity, or how you view your identity, changing as well.

Both on Tumblr and Instagram, I see new profiles of those scribbles over theriotype photos with a theta delta, people wearing cat masks, and in general the same forest-nature-free spirit aesthetic. This is basically 99% of how therianthropy is represented these days, and it just makes me… frustrated.

Not frustrated because of how they’re expressing it and themselves, but because I can no longer relate at all. I know we’ve been through “quadrobics and masks don’t make you alterhuman and don’t matter” so many times, and it’s true, but there’s such a massive focus on it these days that you very easily feel excluded. This is why I’ve also personally been vibing with nonhumans in general and clinical zoanthropes, because you just are and there’s no focus on gear and running on all fours and things like that. You’re an animal, a beast, whatever it may be, and that’s that.

As I reblogged a post just earlier, there’s way too much focus on that same aesthetic that’s been primarily popularised by TikTok. There’s so many different ways to experience nonhumanity and that’s just one of them, yet it’s so difficult to find profiles that don’t only post about that experience today. Not everyone has a free spirit/hippie aesthetic, wants to run off to the woods, or wants to bark and yip and pounce.

Anyone else cry when they hear httyd sound track??!! Like i cant listen to it sometimes because i will start cry. Mostly because a whole buch of nostalgia hits me and like something about it makes me feel so free.

Something i rember as a child is that i use to play like an animal when i was out at recess. And like we had a whole pack thing and we're all different animals. i use to changed the animal i use to play as. so i never stayed the same animal when we played but i know most of them were bigger animals that were scarier. And now it makes since why i did because im dragonkin. But like i miss having friends that acted like animals with me..

y'all got any movie or book ideas for dragonkin im having trouble finding some. I know some good ones like httyd and wings of fire and dont get me wrong i love them but they get boring after watching them so much. So i would love it if you guys know any good movies and book for dragonkin (or stuff like that like) to comment it.
