Pairing: Ladynoir (sorta… more like Ladybug x Adrien but there is some Ladynoir a bit later) Word Count: 1381 Rating: T/General A/N: I wanted to explore Ladybug x Adrien dynamics and I also wanted to write about them kissing, hence this fic. It was supposed to be a one-shot though I swear and now it’s several pages in word I don’t know how this happened.

Marinette couldn’t believe she was in this situation. One could argue it was thanks to Ladybug’s luck, but Marinette hesitated to label “making out with your longtime crush on a regular basis but always disguised as your superhero persona” as exactly lucky.

So… Can we PLEASE talk about the common idea that the Marinette won’t tell Adrien of her secret life as Ladybug is because she’s worried about him being disappointed? This is a super common theme in fanfics, and while it has SOME ground, I feel like it doesn’t make a lot of sense.

I think the real reason she wouldn’t tell Adrien (or Chat) is the same reason she doesn’t tell anyone else. To. Protect. Them. Like she doesn’t keep this a secret from Alya because she’s worried Alya would be disappointed. Like no, she does it to keep her friend safe. Let’s face it if Alya knew Marinette was Ladybug she wouldn’t go “oh… I thought it’d be someone cooler.” She’d be like “MY BEST FRIEND IS A SUPER HERO OMG” Same with Marinette’s parents. They’d be proud, not disappointed. 

But you might be thinking “But these people know more about Marinette! They know she’s brave and selfless, and Adrien only knows the shy Marinette.” And while this is a seemingly good point I must say, BULL CRAP (in the nicest way possible).

Adrien as seen other sides of Marinette, as himself and as Chat. He’s seen her stand up to Chole, and make awesome speeches while running for class prez. He’s seen a ton of different sides of her. And the only reason (that I can see) that she would keep her identity secret is because she wants to protect him.

Marinette is a strong, confident girl, and… I don’t know. It feels wrong to make her seem weak because of a boy. This is just my opinion, so please don’t attack me or anything. Just think about it… (Also I’m really bad at putting my thoughts into words, so please forgive me if this entire post is confusing).

BONUS: *Whisper* Image Adrien telling Marinette that he loves Ladybug and her thought process being like “HE LOVES ME OMG” to “but… I can’t tell him that he actually loves me because it’d compromise him.” To “But I really want to tell him.” And just feeling super conflicted about it, and while patrolling Chat’s all “What’s wrong” and she’s like “Sorry this a personal problem, I don’t think you can help.” AND THEN SHE HAS TO FIGURE OUT THAT SAVING THE WORLD IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN A BOY BUT THEN EVERYTHING WORKS OUT BECAUSE HER CRUSH IS HER PARTNER AND AAAAHHHHH
