If you actually read the article this was an experiment to show wage inequality in New Orleans. White families make an average of over $67,000 as opposed to black families who only make $25,000.
The chef, Tunde Way would ask white people if they wanted to pay $30 and then would offer the $18 to black customers. One of their findings was that 76% of black people wouldn’t accept the money or tried to pay $30 aswell. They’ve already collected the data they needed and the restaurant closes this weekend.
So shut tf up with all this “racism goes both ways” you already know that the institutional racism embedded in this country’s roots negates any oppression or unfairness white people feel when they’re treated even just a tiny bit the way they treat black people and other POC.
Why not focus your energy on the fact that Amazon is almost a trillion dollar company yet their factory workers are passing out from exhaustion and on welfare while their office employees are given state of the art facilities in metropolitan cities.
Why not focus on the fact that Trump just said America would soon have a lifetime president?
Why not focus the fact that facists are using xenophobia and the current problem of low wages + high cost of living to win elections and basically rewrite every stride forward the world over has made in the last thirty years?
Why not focus on the fact that yes, Russia did influence the current election?
Why not focus on the fact that we’re headed to an economic crash worse than the Great Depression and the 2008 housing market crash?
Why not focus on the fact that children are dying in our school due to gun violence but none of our legislators will do anything besides give people more guns and ban video games?
