“…recognition isn’t the solution. Statehood may not even be the solution, at least not in the terms they’re offering. Sovereignty has always been the demand.” -Dana El Kurd
Notes on Dana El Kurd’s episodes for @happenherepod “Palestine’s Stolen Future” and “Recognizing Palestine as a State: Meaningful Farce” and Noura Erakat’s and Shahd Hammouri’s article “The Statehood Trap.”
Ibn al-Qayyim said:
"If you knew the true value of yourself, you would never allow yourself to be humiliated by committing sins.
When Iblīs refused to bow to your father 'Adam, he refused to bow to you, so why have you become his friend and left us?
If there was any love in your heart, it's effect would appear on your body."

Al-Uthaymīn (رحمه الله) said:
"When you have God conscience (have Taqwa), then be certain that Allāh will grant you a way out of every difficulty."
[شرح رياض الصالحين ٥١٧/١]
Friday Sunan list
1 - Bathing (Ghusl) on the day of Jumumah (Bukhari 877)
2 - To wear nice clothes (Abu Dawood,)
3 - Use perfume ('Perfume' refers to men only, as it's not permissible for women in public) and use the Miswaak. (Ibn Majah)
4 - Going early to Jumuah Prayer (Bukhari 929 & Muslim 1964 )
5 - Walking to Masjid for Jumuah Paryer (Al-Tirmidi, 496)
6 - If the Saffs (rows) are already filled, one should not jump over the shoulders of the musallies in order to get to the front. (Abu Dawood)
7 - Try to sit as close as possible to the Imam. (Majah, Tirmidhi)
8 - Listening attentively to Khutba (Sermon) (Bukhari 934)
9 - Making a lot of du’aa’. [al-Bukhaari, 893; Muslim, 852]
10 - Seek the Hour: Rasulallah (sallahu allayhe wasalam) said: “There is such an hour on Friday that if any Muslim makes dua (Supplication) in it, his dua will definitely be accepted.” (Bukhari 935, Muslim)
11- Sins Forgiven: The five daily prayers, and from one Jumuah to the next, are an expiation for whatever sins come in between, so long as one does not commit any major sin. (Muslim, 233)
12- Increase your Durood (example: Durood Ibrahim)
“Recite Durood upon me in abundance on the day of Jummah since they are presented to me.” (Ibn Majah)
13- Recite Soorat al-Khaf
“Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah, will have a light that will shine from him from one Friday to the next.”
(Narrated by al-Haakim, 2/399; al-Bayhaqi, 3/249. Al-Albani Saheeh al-Jaami’, 6470)
Allah says:
O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu'ah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew.
(Soorat Al-Jumu'ah, 9)
Don't Forget Allah:
Allah says: And when the prayer is ended, then disperse in the land and seek of Allah's bounty, and remember Allah much, that ye may be successful.
(Soorat al-Jumu'ah, 10)
Make sure to share this to others and tell your friends:
"Whoever revives a Sunnah from my Sunnah and the people practice it, will have the same reward of those who practice it without their reward diminishing" (Sunan ibn Maajah, 209)
In 3 separate ahadith, Rasulullah salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam said that whoever:
(𝟭) 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗻, (𝟮) 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗤𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗹-𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗻, (𝟯) 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹-𝗤𝗮𝗱𝗿, — 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗲 {𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗮𝗻} 𝗮𝗻𝗱 {𝗶𝗵𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗮𝗯}, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻. 【𝗦𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗵 𝗮𝗹-𝗕𝘂𝗸𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶 𝟯𝟱, 𝟯𝟳, 𝟯𝟴】
What do these 2 terms mean?
🌿 𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗮𝗻 — 𝗜𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗶.𝗲. 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗤𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗹-𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗹, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹-𝗤𝗮𝗱𝗿) 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗵; 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 / 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.
🌿 𝗜𝗵𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗮𝗯 — 𝗜𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘂𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽. 𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗺 𝗜𝗯𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝗷𝗮𝗿 𝗿𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗵𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗵 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗵𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗮𝗯 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝗯𝗮𝗮𝗱𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲!
So if a person enters Ramadan with the mindset of “I just want to get this done and over with” — then this is not ihtisaab.
Ihtisaab is to have genuine hope in Allah’s rahmah and reward, that it motivates us towards doing ibaadat, that we actually enjoy filling our Ramadan with khayr. And Rasulullah ﷺ said that only with imaan and ihtisaab will we gain Allah’s forgiveness for all our past sins.
Please don’t be discouraged if we’ve entered Ramadan on the wrong foot. We can still correct our intention, in shaa Allah.
May Allah allow us to fully take advantage of this blessed month with imaan and ihtisaab, and accept from us.

This is the path, yet where are those who will walk it?!”

Ramadan
Day 2
Ramadan is a lesson in self-discipline. If we can control our hunger & thirst, we can also control our thoughts, words & actions.
True strength lies in what we choose to embrace; patience over frustration, kindness over judgment & purpose over impulse.
اللهم احرمني لذة معصيتك وارزقني لذة طاعتك
"O Allah, deprive me of the pleasure of disobeying You, and grant me the pleasure of obeying You."
“And know that making duʿā’ (supplication) after the prayer — especially before the salām — as the Prophet ﷺ used to supplicate most often, is more likely to be answered than other moments of prayer; because it is supplication after completing the worship.”
-Majmu Al-Fatawa by Imam Ibn Taymiyyah.
Whispers from the Depths: A Call That Never Goes Unanswered
Ibn al-Qayyim said:
“A distressed person does not make Du'ā’ with the supplication of Prophet Yūnus, except that Allāh drives away his distress and anxiety with Tawhīd."
Reflection:
“When life feels overwhelming and the path to Allāh seems heavy, don’t carry your burdens alone, don’t let despair silence you. Take your complaints to the One who hears everything and the One who knows the ache you can’t put into words.
Remember Prophet Yūnus [عليه السلام] alone in the belly of the whale, swallowed by darkness upon darkness. Yet he called out:
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنْ الظَّالِمِينَ
“There is no deity worthy of worship but You. Glory be to You. Indeed, I was of the wrongdoers." Verily, a Muslim never supplicates for anything with it but that Allāh will answer him. [Tirmidhī]
Allāh heard him and responded to him. From the depths where no human help could reach, Allāh made a way out."
The eye is the mirror of the heart.

Shaykh Muhammad bin Sālih al-‘Uthaymeen [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:
“If a person fasts but he does not pray, then his fast is rejected, not accepted, and it will be of no avail to him with Allāh on the Day of Resurrection. We say to him: *Pray then fast,* because as for your fasting and not praying, then your fast is rejected from you,
Majmū Fatāwa wa Rasā’i
The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ used to say:
Allaahumma aṣliḥ lee deen al-lathi huwa ‘iṣmatu amree, wa aṣliḥ lee dunya-ya al-lati feehaa ma’aashee, wa aṣlih lee aakhirati al-lati feehaa ma’aadee, wa-ja’al al-ḥayaata ziyaadatan lee fee kuli khayr, wa-ja’al al-mawta raaḥatan lee min kuli sharr
“O Allaah, set right my religion which is a guardian of my affairs, set right my worldly life in which is my livelihood, and set right my Hereafter which is my place of return. Make life an abundance of every good and make death a relief from every evil.”
(Muslim 2720)
Al-Mannaawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
“O Allaah, set right for me my religious commitment, which is the safeguard of my affairs” means: it is what protects all my affairs, for if a person’s religious commitment is spoiled, all his affairs will be spoiled and he will be doomed to failure in this world and the hereafter.
