Just Another Aldin.

I remained silent, without reproach, while Zaynab’s affection drifted away,

Yet you accused me and said: “You are the one at fault.”

I continued hoping to restore what had been severed between us,

And reconciliation is best achieved through goodness and right conduct.

Since I turned away, a fire has burned within my heart,

Its heat blazing and flaring ever stronger.

For the burning pain of separation is a torment,

And separation is among the greatest hardships and the most difficult to bear.

"We seek refuge in You from the familiarity of sin and the heaviness of repentance and the belittlement of transgression" and it truly made me pause a good bit afterwards.

‘There has come to you a Messenger’ [9:128],

meaning, there has come to you from the presence of the Absolute Unseen to open the locked door,

‎‘from among yourselves’ [9:128],

meaning, from your own selfhood. By ‘selfhood’ he meant that he [i.e. the prophet ﷺ] is the universal human reality, so all is, as Gabriel, peace be upon him, said, from him and to him ﷺ.

As an eternal fragment of this blessing, whenever we split our own food with others with pure intention, we always feel that we’ve eaten our own fill anyway.

“May you be blessed with repeated returns to the Sacred House (the Ka‘bah), again and again. May Allah accept from you the obligatory acts and the Sunnah acts. May goodness and blessings welcome you. May joy return to you on this Eid, and may He make it glad tidings of a happy pilgrimage, abundant خير (goodness), and a long life.”

“O most noble of those who greet morning and evening — may you be delighted by this Eid al-Adha. May Allah acquaint you with as many joys as the number of those who perform Hajj, ‘Umrah, sa‘y, and sacrifice.”

It's an incredibly difficult thing to feel inside yourself, and coming to terms with those things isn't easy in any manner. Sometimes I wonder if separation from attributive things or gradual acceptance are ways out of it, but the latter just seems so heavy.

“The supplication of an absent person for another absent person is more likely to be answered than the supplication made in someone’s presence, because it is more complete in sincerity.”
