                   head instinctively turns away from percy’s hand, shades pulled back down over a black eye. skin stained purple and yellow, a consequence for talking back to his old man. it’s nothing new, nothing john hasn’t dealt with before. he’s had worse, even. and he didn’t need percy feeling sorry for him this time around.  ‘ s’nothing, ’  bender scoffs quietly, brushing a hand through his hair, staring anywhere but at the girl in front of him. shame and anger collide inside of him like a hurricane when he finally does glance at percy through his sunglasses.  ‘ stop lookin’ at me like that! ’  john snaps. and though he regrets it immediately, he doesn’t take it back.     @spiritdreamt.

             onto the counter, the sheriff sets down several snacks. none of them were healthy, most of them would give him acid relflux, but the night at the station will prove to be a long one, with drunken joe nestled safely in its walls, and so hassan decided he deserved a bit of a treat. one brow raises a bit at the young amore, standing behind the register, waiting for him to pay up.  ‘ you must be pretty convincing, ’  he mumbles, pulling out a ten doller bill and handing it off to her.  ‘ if they let someone as young as you work the night shift around here, ’     @wornskirt.

              ‘ my mother definitely goes to the bar too much, ’  heavy sigh leaves the redhead, one arm crossed over the other, rubbing her upper arm. realizing what she’s said, penny’s cheeks grow pink with sheepish warmth, glancing at ted with a furrowed brow and a small smile.  ‘ but it’s best not to dwell on bad things, right? ’     @belasso.
