One thing I’ve noticed as I’ve been showing my dad the various Gundam series was that initially he pronounced things as they’re spelled (GM as Gee-Em, for example) but over time he’s started pronouncing it like they do in the show (GM as Gym). It’s kind of a neat linguistics thing.
